____________________________ Nick Tate

I am a Nick Tate fan since Space 1999, and I followed his career ever since, but I will try to become a little "aloof" and tell you what he was like during the Reunion 2007 in Italy!

The Reunion has been my 28th convention (twenty of which I was part of the organization), but it's been my *first* as a fan meeting his all-time favourite actor!
And such an actor I met!
Jovial, at hand, always smiling to everyone, generous, entertaining and immensely proud of his family... especially his talented son, Tom.

He's been on stage twice for all the attendees, signing autographs and having pictures with the fans. But I was among the few lucky ones to have been able to enjoy his company in an impromptu show on Thursday night, when he presented us with a few "live" samples of his incredible voice talent.

He showed his show reels, "A Knight's Lost" and some of his most famous voice-over trailers. He sat in the theatre among the people 'cause he just wanted to be able to watch his son Tom on the big screen!

On Sunday he decided he wanted to honour his Italian fans by saying something in Italian, maybe a "trailer" that he could learn. This he asked me in the morning, while having breakfast. He then spent hours learning the proper pronunciation of words, in order to do it right for us. And to hear his voice speaking Italian has been fantastic!
He staged not just Q&A for his fans, he literally "directed himself" in moments that embarked us on an emotional voyage from thirty years in the past to this present.

I have no idea why, but meeting Nick Tate has had a /deep impact/ on me, deeper that I thought. The amount of emotions I felt had been almost overwhelming!

I tried to behave as much as I could. But sometimes it's been hard not to scream "Bravo" or "You're the best" as any thirteen years old girl would have done. I payed many compliments to him, hoping not to do much fuss. And I stared... a lot! I know it is not very polite to stare at someone, but what else can you do when you meet the actor whose career you followed for more than three decades and find out that he's not only a greater actor than you've imagined and a very charming man, but also one of the most caring human being you've ever met?!

It's been an honour to have Nick Tate as our guest and I will remember this convention as the best I've never been part of!

Thank you, Nick!
